Forward a Bag to Another Station

Field Descriptions (in Files and Search)

You make a Forward Bag transaction when you have to send a bag to another station as a Rush bag.

Note:

The station doing the Forward transaction is responsible for creating a Rush tag and reflighting the bag.

Important:

Enter the Reason for Loss code and Fault Station when you forward a bag. This information is mandatory when closing a Delayed Bag File, and the forwarding station is best placed to identify the reason for the mishandling.

There are several types of Forward transactions in WorldTracer, depending on the status of the unclaimed bag.

Forward Transaction Description Menu
Forward Bag

A passenger has flown but the bag was not loaded on the same flight.

The bag needs to be reflighted on the next available flight to its destination.

There is no associated Delayed Bag File or On-Hand Bag File in WorldTracer for the bag at this time.

The agent confirms that the passenger has flown (for example, by checking in the airline's reservation or departure control system), and knows which station in the passenger's itinerary to forward the bag.

Note: Forward files are traced for matches in WorldTracer for 10 days.

Although there is a file reference number, you cannot update or close a Forward Bag File.

Forward Delayed Bag

You have performed a Trace or a Search transaction, and there is already an associated Delayed Bag File in WorldTracer.

Passenger > Delayed Bag > Manage > display file > triple-dot > Forward Delayed Bag

Forward On-Hand Bag

You normally forward an On-Hand Bag after another station has performed a Request On-Hand Bag transaction, which is displayed in the Actions Messages folder in the Station Inbox.

However, if there's a match you can forward an On-Hand Bag without waiting for a request.

Station Inbox > Action Messages > triple-dot > Forward On-Hand Bag

Or:

On-Hand Bag > Manage > display file > triple-dot > Forward On-Hand Bag

Forward Quick On-Hand Bag Bag > On-Hand Bag > Search > triple dot > Forward Quick On-Hand Bag

Forward Bag to Headquarters

(On-Hand Bag File only)

An unclaimed On-Hand Bag has not been matched to a passenger, or the passenger cannot be located.

After a period defined by airline processes, agents usually forward unclaimed bags to a central location, where they are processed according to airline policy.

Tip: You can use this transaction when you can't locate a passenger (for example, a Seaman who is now at sea), and you want to forward the bag to Headquarters.

Note: The coordinator can create a prompt in the Station Inbox to remind agents to send unclaimed bags to headquarters after a default time period.

On-Hand Bag > Manage > display file > triple-dot > Forward Bag to Headquarters
